ASIA PACIFIC PREDATOR LEAGUE 2020 FINALS *FEB 23

The Asia Pacific Predator League (APAC PL) is the biggest brand-initiated Esports tournament in the region. The Philippines plays host for APAC PL2020 on February 22-23, 2020 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena, Pasay City with the winning team representatives from Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Macau, Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, Oceanic, India, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Mongolia, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Myanmar vying for the prestigious Predator Shield.

The first-ever Asia Pacific Predator League was held in 2018 at Jakarta, Indonesia, to reinforce Predator's commitment in supporting the gaming industry globally, starting in the region. The second edition, held in Bangkok, Thailand in February 2019, saw one of the fiercest battles with the tournament lasting three days at Nimibutr Stadium.

Over 10,0000 fans watched the Bangkok battles in real-time — and in real life. It garnered 4.3 million views online and peak concurrent viewership of over 60,000.

The same intensity, if not more, is expected for PL2020 as gaming becomes more popular in the Philippines and the rest of the world. The games DOTA 2 and PUBG are two of the most popular in the world, with 1.3 million gamers playing DOTA 2 worldwide. Meanwhile, there are 400 million PUBG players across all platforms worldwide and over 50 million copies of the game sold.

Esports has also debuted as a medal sport in the ongoing 30th Southeast Asian Games with Predator as the official PC provider and Prestige Partner.
